Monster Mouth Bites

Halloween isn’t just for humans — your dog deserves some festive fun too! These Monster Mouth Dog Treats are a playful, healthy way to get your pup in on the spooky spirit. Made with crisp apple slices, creamy peanut butter, and crunchy peanuts for “teeth,” they’re equal parts creepy and cute. Plus, they’re quick to make, packed with natural ingredients, and totally dog-safe. Perfect for a Halloween photo op or a special seasonal snack!

Apple slices with peanut butter and peanuts form a mouth shape on a white surface. A red apple and a bowl are in the blurred background.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple (organic preferred)

  • 2–3 tablespoons dog-safe peanut butter (no xylitol)

  • A few unsalted peanuts or small dog treats (for “teeth”)

Instructions:

  1. Slice the apple: Cut your apple into thin wedges — these will be your monster “lips.”

  2. Add the filling: Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on one side of each slice.

  3. Create the teeth: Press a few peanuts (or small, crunchy dog treats) along the edge of one slice.

  4. Assemble the smile: Place another apple slice on top, peanut butter side down, to create your spooky little grin.

  5. Serve fresh: Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for up to a few hours. (Because apples brown quickly, these are best made right before treat time!)

Pet Care Tip: 🍏 Always use peanut butter without xylitol and serve in moderation as a fun, festive snack — not a full meal.
